Knot For Sale (2015)
Knot For Sale is an exhibition that facilitates social imagination and skill sharing. Viewers are invited to the imaginative labor of contributing a barter profile featuring "goods" and "services" that they "have" and "want" in exchange for a handmade piece of rope. Over the course of a week coils of rope are replaced by a type of solidarity portrait revealing the dynamic local resources. The culmination of the exhibition ended in the very first of many Athens Free School courses: Zipporah Thompson led a natural fabric dyeing workshop featuring red cabbage, rust, and clay, and Courtney McCracken, co-founder of Athens Free School, led a discussion on radical education models.
